CES 2013 is filled with game consoles and gaming devices. With the popularity of mobile titles, everyone wants to bring the first Android games on the big screen. Ouya was the first to propose the concept and prove there is a market for it, but others have beat it to market with an interesting concept that combines multiple devices into one.
From left field, the latest Android UNU trying to be all things to all people. It has imposed itself as tablets, smart TVs, and game consoles all in one. If so, it’s an interesting concept that is really unique compared to other Android console game we’ve seen at CES this year.
No currently available for the specification, but at least a bit more powerful if one wants to control the living room. For peripherals, UNU has some interesting gimmicks that help set it apart from the competition. For one, it has what the manufacturer, SNAKEBYTE, called air mouse. A remote control that functions as mouse movements Sensing types so that users can interact with devices remotely without compromising the accuracy of the mouse.
Like all other Android gaming console, also has a display controller to support multiple Android game. What sets them apart from others who also have a mapping application that allows the user to control a link map to the controller without having to wait for the developers to add official support controller. A solution for a long time to come, and one that every other Android gaming console should adopt.
While uni is really interesting, price is the most important factor. People do not have to pay for this kind of experience if the price is more than what Ouya and Google or Apple TV set-top box will cost them. Of course, using it as a convenient tablet, but most people will want to invest in the UNU as a smart TV or game console, and SNAKEBYTE price expectations.
